Hi Rachel. How are you?
Yes "Rodger D" was written about a real life and death situation. Rodger was my younger brother. It was unfortunate what happened but it did and as a songwriter to write about it was a natural thing for me to do. It was not something that came together so easily though. This song may only be a couple of minutes long however I did not get the final writing of it for ten years or more. Just couldn`t get the words the right way. I would work on it here and there and put it away until my thoughts came back to it and I wanted to work on it. Really, 10 years before I said OK it is written in the way I feel it does justice to the event and than I went in to record other songs and only until the end of the week of recording sessions did I record "Rodger D"
I don`t know that it was hard for me to do it because he was my brother and he died in such a manner I think it was more that I was also working on other songs and "Rodger D" was one of those songs put on the side to do when I only felt like doing it. Thanks for noticing, I really appreciate it. Rodger was a friendly and likeable person. I wish he was still here.

Yea Rachel recording is alot of fun. I love the process. I don`t really have a home recording set up, well I do but I don`t have it set up. I have been going into studios since 02. I`m used to doing it that way now.
You don`t really need to know the technical things just focus on your performance and try and get a engineer that will go the extra to capture what your all about and you will get a performance worth dedicating to recording.
On your dogs it seems to me you have done pretty much all you can for them. You can`t save the world so I am told all the time. You still try but it`ll overwhelm you every time. Do what you can and be at peace with that. If you must give the dogs up you must do what you need to do.
That`s cool you read what Tony and I may be doing something together. We`ll see how that all transpires. Should be fun.
see ya Rachel...thanks for coming by too...
